Kike Oniwinde

Kike Oniwinde is quite literally chasing her dreams as one of the up-and-coming stars of British athletics. Kike became one of the newest members of Great Britains Athletics team in 2011 after qualifying for the European Under 20 Championships. She is currently ranked top 5 in the UK for javelin and her current personal best is 50.72m.

Kike is the 2007 England Amateur Athletics Association (AAA) National Championships gold medallist for javelin, and won silver and bronze awards in the same tournament in 2009 and 2011 respectively. She also received a bronze medal at the 2012 British University Championships held at Londons newlyopened Olympic Stadium.

Winning is good because it means I have to keep pushing myself further and setting myself new goals.

With 8A*s and 3As at GCSE and 3As at A level, this talented Star caught the attention of one of the best universities in the world: Harvard. However, Kike ultimately decided to pursue her studies in the UK and train with fellow representatives of Great Britains Athletics team. She has her sights set on competing in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Its important for me to do my best in more than one field and I am thankful to God for giving me the ability to do so.

The promising sportswoman is also passionate about fashion and is the co-founder and executive director of fashion line Kiwi & Yam, launching in summer 2012.

In August 2011, Kike participated in Deutsche Banks I Have A Dream programme and earlier this year she also completed a spring programme with Goldman Sachs.
