Charles Alonge

Charles Alonge
Charles became a father during his final year at university. He managed to juggle this new responsibility with completing his degree in Information Technology and continuing to organise the popular student events which got him noticed in Rare Rising Stars 2009. He now plans to pursue event management professionally

 

Ruth Awogbade

Ruth Awogbade
After appearing in the debut edition of Rare Rising Stars, Ruth hosted Magnify – a Christian conference for girls and women aged between fourteen and twenty-five – and launched a magazine of the same name. She recently secured a ten month graduate internship with L’Oréal through Rare.

 

Dean Carby

Dean Carby
Dean continues to run his entertainment company Voice ‘n’ Vibes (VNV) Sounds, which is now branching out into corporate events. He is also still proving popular on the music circuit, DJing regularly all over the country and abroad.


 

Lateef Joseph-Maynard

After graduating from King’s College London with a degree in English Language and Communications, Lateef spent some time travelling in America. He has since secured a place on the graduate scheme of digital agency Weapon7 through Rare.


 

Jalil Saheeb

Jalil Saheeb
Jalil has taken his inspirational fusion of gospel and rap music to the US an astonishing three times in the six months since he completed his degree in Music and Media Management earlier this year. He performed as part of the Bobby Jones Gospel tour and opened for R&B singer Fantasia in North Carolina. He continues to make music and his album Genesis Snapshots is set for release in September.
 

Olawale Gbaja-Biamila

Olawale Gbaja-Biamila
Ola is in the business of making people laugh and has decided to pursue comedy professionally since graduating from LSE with a degree in Accounting and Finance. His humour has taken him to San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York via Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Nigeria. He performs regularly at the Comedy Café.

Lewis Iwu

Lewis Iwu
Lewis completed his Graduate Diploma in Law this year at BPP Law School and will begin his legal training contract with Slaughter and May in 2011.

Jennifer Larbie
Following an enjoyable stint as an intern to David Lammy MP, Jennifer is now working as a union organiser for the National Union of Teachers, one step closer to achieving her ultimate ambition of working in international politics.
