Summix: September Storyselling Hosted by L’Oréal

Our second annual Summix event took place at L’Oréal on September 18. 50 of Rare’s best people attended. The day was arranged around the theme of selling stories – about ourselves, about products and services, and about brands.

Attendees heard presentations from speakers including Raphael Mokades, Managing Director of Rare, who talked about good and bad writing; Nzinga Russell, Brand Manager for Mizani and a former Rare candidate, who ran a L’Oréal business game; Jon Steel, Planning Director of WPP, who shared some of the material about communications from his book Perfect Pitch; and Emily Ackroyd, Graduate Recruitment Manager at L’Oréal, who talked about good and bad job applications. In addition, Jon spoke about careers at WPP, and Emily about careers with L’Oréal. Attendees also heard from Sean Leopold, a former Rare candidate now doing a six-month internship in marketing with L’Oréal’s RedKen brand.
