Job Description

The exact job the successful candidate will be asked to do will depend on his or her skills and attributes. We expect the candidate to do some of the following:

Administrative and logistical work
  • Book initial interviews and meetings
  • Chase candidates for applications
  • Confirm attendance at events
  • Follow up with candidates following initial interviews
  • Manage filing and book-keeping
  • Manage office – stationary, plants, water, publications, petty cash
  • Administer tests for candidates
  • Carry out other admin duties as required

Marketing
  • Headhunt candidates for specific briefs

Communications
  • Maintain and develop the Rare website
  • Be responsible for Rare newsletters
  • Build relationships with student and professional journalists and generate appropriate coverage for Rare’s research reports

Event management
  • Manage certain client events
  • Manage events for Rare alumni
  • Manage any other events as appropriate

Research
  • Research and write major reports on diversity, using a mixture of quantitative and qualitative research methods

Business Development and Strategy
  • Research possible new clients and income streams for Rare
