The exact job the successful candidate will be asked to do will depend on his or her skills and attributes. We expect the candidate to some of the following:
Marketing
- Build and maintain relationships with student societies
- Carry out university visits and ensure new applications come in from our key target universities
- Headhunt candidates for specific briefs
Communications
- Maintain and develop the Rare website
- Be responsible for Rare newsletters
- Build relationships with student and professional journalists and generate appropriate coverage for Rare’s research reports
Event management
- Manage certain client events
- Manage events for Rare alumni
- Manage any other events as appropriate
Research
- Research and write three major reports on diversity per year, using a mixture of quantitative and qualitative research methods
Recruitment
- Manage relationships with candidates for a particular sector – to include initial interviews, regular catch-up calls, help, advice, and training when candidates go for interview, and giving feedback to unsuccessful candidates
- Manage clients in a particular sector - talk to clients about candidates, find out their needs, and help to suggest solutions
Business Development and Strategy
- Research possible new clients and income streams for Rare
- Approach potential new clients
- Manage and refine plans for the company’s long-term growth
